There is no denying the captivating beauty of verdant mountains and the art of their ridges and knife edges. The calming feeling and the refreshing air that we feel whenever the cold wind blows are just added bonuses. Perhaps due to these reasons that resorts offering unobstructed views of gorgeous valleys surrounded by formidable mountains are very popular.  What started in the famous Baguio and Tagaytay are now being emulated by many places in the country. Recently, the little-known barangay of Rangayen in the mountainous town of Alamada has followed through with aesthetic resorts and restaurants popping up one after another. This provided visitors with several options as a side trip after seeing the much sought-after Asik-Asik Falls and one of them is Salukot Mountain View & Resort.Salukot Mountain View Resort

FEATURES OF SALUKOT MOUNTAIN VIEW & RESORTSalukot Mountain View Resort

Infinity Pools – What better way to relish the beauty of God’s creation than dipped in a pool of flowy spring water. Salukot Mountan View & Resort has infinity pools where both kids and adults can enjoy a refreshing dip.

Day Tour Cottages – Scattered around the resort are day tour cottages that can accommodate small groups of 5 to large ones of up to 30 people.

Photo Ops  Spot – The resort has taken the liberty to put up a spot where visitors can snap unlimited photos for the gram. With lush mountains in the background, one can always count on perfect shots. They have designed it with structures made with native materials that are famous in Bali.

Overnight Villas – Waking up to a delightful view is probably in everyone’s daydreams and for this, Salukot Mountains View & Resort has overnight villas where visitors can spend the night comfortably. Each villa comes with mattresses and has its own toilet and bath. It’s perfect for a group of up to 3-4 people.

Camping grounds – For those who are more into basking at the dark skies dotted with stars, the resort also has campgrounds where they can pitch tents for a fee.

Kitchen & Grilling Areas – The resort has an eatery but they offer a very minimal selection of food. Bringing and cooking your own food is the more ideal way to go.  For this, they have a kitchen and a grilling area where you can do all the food prepping and cooking.

TRAVEL TIPS AND KEY TAKEAWAYS

Salukot Mountain View Resort

  • There are no direct trips to Rangayen. If you don’t have your own vehicle, your option is to take the jeep/van going to Dado Alamada. From there, you can hire a motorcycle to take you to Salukot Mountain View & Resort.
  • The entrance fee is P50/person only for view deck access and P100/person for view deck and pool. I think this is a bit pricey for my standard.
  • The resort, as it is, is already great but they could still improve especially on landscaping the entire area.
  • In order to keep the pools clean and uncontaminated, the resort could use building a separate shower area.
  • There are a lot of people in the resort, especially on weekends. Other than going on weekdays to avoid the crowd, I think the resort should limit the number of visitors. This is to observe proper social distancing to avoid the spread of the virus.
  • Tents are available for rent but the resort requires visitors to book an overnight villa before being allowed to camp.
  • The resort is clean. They could still improve in maintaining cleanliness throughout the day especially in the shower and toilet rooms by having a dedicated staff to do such a task.
  • There is a parking space for visitors bringing their own vehicle for a fee. I think they’re better off making this free.
